7 Ways to Generate Leads From Your Website
Generating leads was probably the original reason your built your website, right? But maybe it's under-performing and you're thinking about a website redesign? Here are some quick tips to generate more leads from your website.
Great shareable content related to your business
Does your website say the same thing everybody else's in the same business does? Why would a lead choose yours over theirs? Before a visitor becomes a lead they have to find something that moves them to take the next step. Share quality information they can learn from.
Call to Action
The "Contact us" email link is much less likely to get used than an action than a clearly written call to action. Basically because it takes more commitment to send an email request than it does to click a link to get more information. If you want people to do something tell them what it is and make it easy for them to do it.
Build relationships
If you have a social media presence sharing your valuable information is just so much easier. Build relationships with people in your industry and share links with them. If it's great information they'll share with their own networks and become evangelists who generate leads for you.
Make it interactive
If all your website is is a virtual brochure for your business, that's how potential customers will use it. They'll get basic information and move on. Add a blog to keep it lively. Make sure there is a way for people to easily share information about your website with their friends by adding sharing buttons to your favorite social networks. Ask for input.
Talk back
Comments are like gold on your website. If you have a blog or allow comments on pages you're showing the world you care about what they have to say too. If you get comments, respond as soon as possible and let them know you're not only listening, but you value their opinion too.
Give them something
Give people information related to your business that they can put to use right now. A whitepaper, an infographic, the first chapter of your book. They'll come back for more and you're on your way to a relationship that can lead to business.
Follow up
A lead is one thing but if you nurture that lead with information directly relevant to them you can turn a lead into a genuine prospect. If someone downloads your whitepaper or signs up for your newsletter don't forget them. Send them more information that is useful (not a sales pitch) and deepen the connection. If someone emails you from your website reply immediately.
